Oatmeal Loaf

Ingredients

  • - 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • - 1 1/2 cups milk
  • - 1/4 cup honey
  • - 1 egg
  • - 1/4 cup melted butter
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - 1 tsp baking powder
  • - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • - Pinch of salt
  • - Optional mix-ins: nuts, dried fruits, chocolate chips

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats and milk. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the oats to soften.
  3. 3. Add the honey, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt to the oat mixture. Stir until well combined.
  4. 4. Fold in any optional mix-ins you desire.
  5. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. 7. Allow the oatmeal loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. 8. Slice and serve the oatmeal loaf warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
