Ingredients

  • - 2 cups masa harina
  • - 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • - 1 1/2 cups warm water

Directions

  1. 1. In a medium bowl, combine the masa harina, baking powder, and salt.
  2. 2. Add the oil and mix until the mixture resembles a coarse meal.
  3. 3. Slowly add the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
  6. 6. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a ball.
  7. 7. Press each ball into a thin round about 5 inches in diameter.
  8. 8. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  9. 9. Place the rounds in the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until they are lightly browned.
  10. 10. Serve warm with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
